It is commonly known that the goal in diabetes is to keep sugar level in a steady range to prevent damage to vital orans such as the heart, kidneys, brain and blood vessels. Sadly most people live out their lives with the belief that diabetes management is possibly only with medicines.
The 4 aspects this article will cover.

So in a good news/less good news thing, I might have found out the cause of the Unexpected Floor Time! I got my blood test results back and my sodium was on the very very low end of normal. Still technically in the normal range, but very not normal for me, so my issue may have been that this week I am more sodium Georg than usual???? I mean I do have salt wasting syndrome but also I eat so much salt every day and I am on medication to help me retain salt better (fludrocortisone! it's great!) So anyway that's why I have not got much crafting done this week. I've been extremely tired and unsalted lol Oh wait the good/less good format! Okay so good news is might have an answer and it's not any of the worse options, less good news is that I need more damn salt lol

M A S T E R L I S T
for losing as much as possible in a short amount of time (cuz we are all desperate), from me - a biotechnologist, who relapsed (the demons never leave)
the tips i am about to share with all my girliepops are all based on science and work; if you have any other tips, feel free to share in the comments, so we can have all the tips in one place!
• eat your meals from smaller sized plates, to trick your brain you are eating more
• cut up your food into small pieces
• chew every bite at least 10-15 times, until it is a purée consistency; this way you will be eating slower and give your brain more time to realise you are full
• sip water with a lemon slice between your bites
• focus on eating vegetables and protein, limit carbs
• drink a lot of water, and I mean a lot
• add lemon slices to your water to make it have some flavour; also the lemon juice in water before your meals will help reduce the glucose spike => less insulin released from liver => less absorbed glucose from carbs/sugars/starches => less fat on your body
• move for 10 mins right after eating - walk, do calf raises, some light movement so all the glucose can be used before getting stored as fat on your body
• drink tea - green tea, detox tea, whatever tea, without a sweetener
• do not drink diet sodas/colas - or any kind of liquid that is not water/tea - these are useless calories, why would you do that to yourselves?! even if it says 0 cals - this s#it is so bad for you, and the carbonation makes you feel bloated like a god damn whale! ditch the diet sodas girliepops
• implement some kind of movement every day - walking, pilates, yoga, dance workouts, resistance bands workouts or stretching
• do not weigh yourself everyday - due to hormones our weigh fluctuates every day and this will just make you feel bad if you lose and gain 1-2 legs everyday depending on your menstrual cycle, water weight and so on.. weigh yourself every 2 weeks.
• do not drink fruit juice - this is such a scam; hear me out: how many oranges does it take to make 1 glass of orange juice? around 3. can you eat three whole oranges in one sitting? i bet no. then why would you drink 3 oranges? when you make fruit juice, all the fibre and the pulp is removed, leaving you with just the juice with all the sugar in it (in the form of glucose and fructose) so you are basically drinking pure sugar, which turns into fat… just eat your damned fruit, instead of drinking a bunch of empty calories
• take red cranberry supplements - they are usually taken for UTIs, but the red cranberry has diuretic effect, and will make you pee your water weight out; please do not take more than 2 pills and remember to drink plenty of water so you don’t damage your kidneys!!!!
• take probiotics - this will ensure your gut health stays good while restricting foods, so you don’t end up constipated and bloated
• i personally do not eat dairy products (i am lactose intolerant) - they are full of hormones from the cows, give you acne and inflammation, and the protein in it is not worth it considering the amount of fat these products have; skip the dairy if you can
• if you drink a lot of coffee, remember to drink plenty of water! coffee has a diuretic effect and if you are not drinking more water, it will make you retain whatever water is in your body, leading to water weight gain
• if you end up binging, do so mindfully - do not give in to all the food, just have a piece of chocolate, not the whole chocolate bar; have a piece of cake, not the whole cake; then get back on track and try to exercise as much as possible to burn the excess calories
• i think this is obvious but let me say it just in case - in order to lose weight, you have to be on a calorie deficit - meaning you burn/use more calories than you consume; but!! here is the trick - you have to maintain low calorie diet, do not ⭐️ve for more than 2 days, as this will f#ck up your metabolism - your body goes into fight or flight response, meaning everything you eat after f4sting will remain on your body as a reserve of food, in case you end up ⭐️ving again; so have your veggies and protein (chicken breasts, white fish)
• keep yourself busy so you don’t think about f0od - study, work, read books, journal, whatever it is, your day has to be full of activities do you can forget to e4t
• reject offered food - say you already ate / yr not hungry / you are allergic to some ingredient / you have a bad migraine and this will make it worse / or take the food and say you will have it later and just give it to someone else (pls don’t throw in trash, do not waste food)
• when eating with family / boyfriend - place food in a smaller plate, cut up food into very small pieces and eat very slowly and chew every bite for a long time, sip water between every few bites, then say you are full and cannot eat anymore / that you ate a bit earlier and yr full
• when eating, eat your veggies first, then your protein and eat the smallest amount of carbs - always leave leftover carbs in your plate
• do not eat any snacks - no cereal bars, no cereal, no chips, no crisps, no crackers, no salty sticks, just do not eat snacks!
• if you feel like eating - drink water first, then have veggies (cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, radishes, etc) or fruit (apples, citrus, any kind of berries)
• if you are having breakfast - always eat a savoury breakfast - eggs, avocado, veggies etc; never eat a sweet breakfast - cereal, croissants, pancakes, etc, this will spike up your glucose levels and all that sugar will turn into fat; a sweet breakfast will make you feel tired and exhausted all day, leading you to eat more
• wear a waist trainer - do so for no more than 8hrs a day; this will also help you have smaller portions of food, as it won’t allow your stomach to expand
• do not purge - this is very bad for your teeth and overall health; the stomach acid is very strong and every time you purge, your teeth are getting damaged; just don’t overeat in the first place and have self control!
this is all i have for right now; if i think of anything else, i will add later / make another post; if you have anything to add to this list - go ahead and do so in the comments below
remember, stay safe xx

Irresponsible
Trafalgar Law x Male Reader
Fandom -> One Piece
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Law hated it—the carelessly and inconsiderate behaviour towards you, from your friends and Captain, who—Law had knew it all along, wasn't the right person for you—has a nonexistent and illogically mindset of thinking—and overall, Law simply hated it.
Since their start of Alliance on Punk Hazard, then during Dressrosa—and what happen on Cake Island, only being told about it—all the way to the here and now, Wano—your crewmates seemed, either purposely or unintentionally forgetful, to ignore your problem of health and denying you the medical attention you (desperately) needed.
This all lead up to the current situation, where you continue to push through—going way beyond over your own limits again—without a break, discarding your own health too—and came, after collapsing more than just once, close to dying. A repeat of the last few time.
Law watches you, how you stumbled towards him—unconsciously and out of focus, having just won one of the many final fights—against Kaido, his henchmens and Big Mom—yourself, which left you more than just bloody and beat.
Before you were even close enough to Law, your knees buckled in—falling forward, eyes rolling backwards and face scrunching up in pain—and Law had barely time to catch you.
Picking you up, Law carried you behind a broken stone wall—propping you against it and put his coat on you, to keep you warm.
Law checked your pulse, it was faint—unnoticeable even—but still there. The symptoms, just a few of many, were clear; short rapid breathing, sweating and shivering.
Your blood sugar levels had reached the lowest point. Probably having dropped to Zero by now. If that's the case and Law as a Doctor knew it was, he needs to inject you at least around four doses glucose—but Law himself has only one, actually two, though the second one broke and left behind a sticky mess in his pant pockets, syringe left—to get you stable enough and bring you somewhere far safer—the Polar Tang preferable.
»d-don't......I don't.....want« you mumbled out, having come back to your senses, weakly pushing Law's hand away from you.
»Shhh, I need to [Name]-ya« Law hushed you gently, moving your shirt upwards—rubbing over your stomach with his hand, giving you a bit of comfort—looking at the faint dots of injections, which begun to build up to an scaring area onto your skin.
You whined out painfully loud, body jerking and rolling over onto your side—holding your stomach after the cold needle left your skin.
Every interjection you had to take, you cursed your body and this damned blood sugar—which had made your life more miserable than those pills—to reduce your devil-fruit ability—you were forced, by mother, to take. You hated it.
Law turned you back, patting your cheeks to keep you awake and you were close to tell your boyfriend off—how this is his sole fucking fault and how you hate him for the discovery of it.
You didn't though, hadn't the energy left in you and minds busy to not vomit any minute—gulping down the rising bile.
~~~
»Traffy! Is [Name] alright?« asked Luffy, voice loud as always and laced with concern for his friend.
Law was honest, when Luffy had appeared next to him—out of nowhere it seems—it did spooked him a bit, only a bit though.
»Strawhat-ya, give me your Syringes.« and when Law didn't received a reply right away, he asked again—harsher now, not having the time and nerves for niceties or to have a conversation with the Strawhat.
Luffy rubbed his neck sheepishly, when Law looked at him expectingly. Luffy knew you kinda needed the glucose at specific times, but he believed you can pull through it without them—like you had all the time before, because you're strong after all!
»I don't have them anymore, they broke during one of the fights, but [Nickname] doesn't need them, he's strong!«
Law had enough. Enough from all this bullshit talk about believe, because believing doesn't solve or cure anything—it's nothing but a false, selfish sort of hope and a nonsense of illogical and ignorance.
His short fuse of stressed nerve and building up anger bursted for final now. Getting up, Law grabbed Luffy by his short collar.
»Are you that incompetent inconsiderate towards [Name]-ya or just plain stupid?! I told you over and over again, just how fucking vital the Glucose is for him! Do you want [Name]-ya so desperately dead? Huh, Strawhat?!«
Law screamed the last bit, vocal cords shaking with furious anger. Dropping Luffy to the ground, Law picked you up again and teleported somewhere, hopefully far enough this time, else.
~~~
Wiping your sweaty forehead and the spilling tears from your flushed red face, Law couldn't tell how much that one dose would last for you—probably not long as your body already starts to fights again against the conscious drop.
Law said it once and he would say it again; Luffy as your captain was irresponsible and soon—not now or tomorrow, but in near future—the cause of your death.
Leaning down to you, kissing you on the lips—Law murmured in a whisper, that everything gonna be alright and that you're feeling better soon.
Law promised himself—and even when that means, being at war with the Strawhats—he would take you away and keep you by his side.

wait what are the most important things to be on top of a first aid kit/trauma kit? i did first aid training fairly recently but havent had cause to use it yet, pls share ur wisdom! c:
All kits are gonna differ as to what specifically goes in them because of different use-cases and contexts, but generally you pack for:
Urgency of access
Order of access
Frequency of access
Principally, equipment that will be needed urgently will be packed so it is immediately available. It should be the fastest thing to access and unpack. This does not just mean it's on top, it also means it has a consistent location that retains it during transport. Again, this is dependent on use case, but generally these are immediate life-saving interventions.
Within that, though, if equipment needs to be used in a given order procedurally, then it should be packed in that order of access - the first thing needed should be the first thing available, and the immediately-available item it reveals when removed should be the next item needed. This doesn't just mean that a tourniquet should be available before the marker to use on it, but also that trauma shears should be available before bandages.
Lastly, the least-used items should be placed at the slowest to access parts of the kit, or in any places that require partially unpacking and repacking the kit to access. Conversely, items that are not urgently needed but still used often, such as simple band-aids, or, again depending on the context, blood glucose monitor lancets or seasickness pills, should be in easy-to-access spots, albeit only to a lesser degree than urgency items.
Further, breaking up kits into separate levels of urgency can also significantly reduce issues - keeping an urgent trauma kit separate from a more long-term iodine-and-pills kit means that the urgent kit doesn't get cluttered, but also that the less urgent kit gets to put, like, electrolyte rehydration solution in the quick-access spots.

Sugar Doesn't Rot
. Shinso x GN!Reader
Reader is kidnapped and Shinso saves them
Hello! This was a request from one of you beautiful people! I hope you like it 💫
Warning: Mention of blood, bruises
Tumblr media
Anyone who didn't know you would probably be concerned about how much sugar you ingested. Hell, Shinso once saw you open three sugar packets and pour them straight into your mouth, watching how your body shivered in likely disgust. It was like a daily vitamin for you. You had your healthy everyday gummies, some Vitamin D, allergy pill, whatever else, and then at least three sugar packets. Not counting the ones you'd ingest later before training, or in the middle of training.
Your quirk allowed you unbelievable speed, but at the cost of sugar or really the glucose produced (I don't know biology please don't kill me if this doesn't make sense). You could run almost a mile in your first UA years, close to topping Lida's best speed. That was until you inevitably crashed. Body collapsing into a tired delirious state. In one instance going cold, and becoming lightheaded- your sugar level had dropped too fast for you to even notice and stop.
●○●○●○●○●○●
“ Hero Photo at your service!'' Your hero name, to your absolute corny pleasure, was short for photosynthesis. A joke about how your body turned the sugar into liquid fuel like a plant— Shinso smiled lightly when you told him the reason why you chose such a name. “I don't want some poor parents having to worry about their toddler downing sugar packets because they see a hero do it. So, let's just make them think I get my energy from the sun!”
“Ironic considering the amount of vitamin D I see you take.”
“Oh shut it Shinso!”
●○●○●○●○●○●
Shinso smiled warmly at you from across the table. The warmth of the morning light on you causing an ethereal glow as you pour what you had believed to be sugar into your hot coffee. But the twisted look on your face and splash of coughing told him otherwise. A wicked smirk playing on his lip, “Salt?”
“Shut it!”
●○●○●○●○●○●
Curled up with him under a blanket, your face puzzled as you stared at the half-completed sudoku puzzle. Shinso watched you with a lazy smile as you filled in more squares. It was one of the hardest puzzles in the book. He'd need to get you another one, maybe as a gift? Your birthday was too far away and he wanted to get you one of the stupidly hard wooden 3D puzzles he saw on YouTube. He remembers the stars in your eyes as you watched the man struggle to open it.
●○●○●○●○●○●
“Go in around the back. Denki along with Uraraka takes the left flank. Uraraka you'll lift the metal materials in the air and ensure they don't touch you or any civilians. Denki, try and channel your spark to hit the metal scraps as a conductor. While that goes on-” Shinso watched from the back of the room as you schooled the loud, irritating Bakugou on his battle plan.
●○●○●○●○●○●
“What?”
“They were taken, not sure by who, likely (Enter Villians, maybe Lov? Up to you).”
“When.”
“Three days ago”
Shinso was silent, Aizawa watching him, his fingers twitching as he waited for his student to crack. “Why wait so long to tell me?” It wasn't a fair question and Shinso knew that. While sections of people knew you were an item, larger ones didn't. And there wasn't a reason to tell him of your disappearance, he was only a student.
“Their quirk, we know you know more about it.” Aizawa scuffled lightly, regardless of your ranking, you were still a student and a child no less. How did they not know more about your quirk? Or did they not care to learn about you?
“We know they use sunlight-”
“No” Shinsos voice was strained, anger washing through him. “Their quirk evolves around sugar”
●○●○●○●○●○●
You rested, eyes closed in the darkness of the room. Pitch dark, not even possible to see your body that rested tied in the chair. Your body felt stiff and sore, bruises forming on your pale cheeks and ribs from the beatings. No, the lack of light didn't affect your quirk, your immune system, and overall emotions, yes. It was like a void, a cold room where you questioned if your icey body even was touching the wooden chair. But the lack of food played heavily. Regardless, even if your captors were right about the darkness, the lack of food would weaken anyone. Your body, after all the training and muscle growth, needed more food.
●○●○●○●○●○●
Drool dribbled from the corner of your mouth, body slumped in exhaustion. It took too much energy to even close your mouth.
Another day, another unanswered question, another beating. Every once in a while they'd ask a question you would know an answer to, but even then said you were clueless. How many days have you been in this room? The lack of light messed up your clock, to where time felt pointless. You struggled to latch onto hope. Days must have passed, and you were feeling closer and closer to death. Withdrawing from your superfood, sugar, torturing your body. You had never gone so long without it. And for a moment, you wondered if your body could. Your mind flashed to the doctors telling you to ingest as much as you could, the irrigation in their voice as they backtracked on every once of advice they had ever given. “Your energy, not just your quirk, depends on it.” interesting… You were so young when you heard that information, and you only remember it now.
●○●○●○●○●○●
10 days. Shinso rested in the car, body stiff and tense. Eyes set on the headrest in front of him. Eye hollow, yet filled and swirled with sickening fear and anguish.
●○●○●○●○●○●
12 days. The door swung open, shining blinding light onto you. A high-pitched cry left your chapped lips as it flashed your unprepared eyes. It felt like your skin was melting at its harshness. As though it was a flame held up to your skin. “Y/N '' a voice nearly screamed. Your head swirled up, vision blinded by the light and head now pounding, what little energy you had straining. “In-show?” your small voice cracked. Swollen tongue struggling to say the name. “I'm here! I'm here! I got you!”
Shino's eyes watered lightly at your appearance. Pale, you were sickly pale. Your hair was greasy, which he cared little about, except that it seemed matted with blood. Your cheeks were bruised and your eyes sunk in. And you were cold, so cold.
Then you cried, whimpering out in vain as you tried to grasp onto him once free. He held you close, your two bodies resting on the ground for a second as he cradled your frail self. “I love you - I love you” he repeated into your hair, not caring at the smell or cracked blood.
●○●○●○●○●○●
You lay in the hospital bed, sugar packets and sugar bags splayed open. You looked healthier and more alive. Your colors coming back and your bruises slowly fading. Shinso sat beside you, fingers carefully rubbing your hand. Too worried to fully hold your hand due to the red marks you received from struggling in your binds. “I love you,” you whispered out through cracked lips.
Shinso smiled, leaning down to kiss you until you moved your head away. “N-no.” He froze, fear raking his body. You must have felt it, the sudden tension in his body, and quickly you spoke. “My- my lips are cracked and- and I smell awful.” he won't lie, you kind of did. You smelt like a sterilized hospital room, like the cheap but effective soap the infirmary used. He cocked an eyebrow and laughed slightly.
“And I'm supposed to care?”
“Sh-shut it!”
●○●○●○●○●○●
Azawia leaned into the small area you two shared, making sure both of you were okay. The image of Shinso's red eyes and angered face never leaves his mind. How he carried your nearly limp body in his arms, your skin bruised and the usual smirk you so often had gone and replaced by a busted lip. But now, instead, he found you nuzzled into Shinso’s shoulder. The lanky male hunched over your bed, arms wrapped tightly around you as he buried his face into your hair. Azawia looked away and walked out of the medical wing, his body finally relaxing. You both where safe, you both were okay

Soda Popinski Headcanons
His legal name is Dmitri Osipovich Pavlovsky, however, this was only given to disguise his real designation. Around the lab, he is simply referred to as Номер Три (Nomer Tri/Number Three). He prefers being called by his stage name.
His stage name was made by him after an announcer accidentally called him “Popinski”. He found it funny, so he started calling himself Soda Popinski in the ring on his own accord.
His patronymic and family names were from the project head.
When being called for, sometimes it takes a second for Soda to remember his legal name.
Soda’s magic use becomes active when his body is processing large amounts of sugar. Burning through the glucose gives him supernatural physical strength and amplified vitality. Although, his body now heavily depends on this enhancement, so if Soda doesn’t constantly keep up with his body’s sugar demand he can barely function.
His abnormally high magic potential from a young age is what caught the attention of the scientists to use as a subject. Soda had the potential to become an even stronger magic user than Great Tiger.
Ironically, all the medications and treatments Soda had to strengthen his magic use over the years has weakened his ability to consciously use magic. He won’t be casting like Tiger any time soon.
The large amounts of experimental serum he downed for his TD match overclocked his magic use and became too much to handle. In the aftermath, his body was essentially rejecting the high amount of sugar it depended on, so recovery took much longer without magic to speed it up. Soda had to do a whole sugar detox before even starting physical therapy.
He always feels too hot in anything above Russia’s freezing winters. As such, Soda often wears very little clothing; he only wears as much as needed to be decent.
Soda was born with complete heterochromia, having a blue left eye and brown right eye. As a bonus, drinking the serum from his TD fight will make his pupils faintly glow pink. Overdoing it will make his eyes bloodshot with pink.
The type of person to casually drop the absolute most awful traumatic experiences mid-conversation thinking they’re relatable moments everyone has.
Did a lot of cognitive training to strengthen his magic use, and playing/studying chess was a big part of it. As such, he’s the best chess player in the WVBA. Bull flipped the table on him way too many times to count.
He would enjoy chess boxing, but Soda frequently knocks his opponent out before the game can get interesting.
Loves to read and learn new things. Books were one of his rewards growing up and his very sheltered upbringing made Soda want to know more about the world outside his lab, starting with the cultures of his opponents. He wants to become a polyglot to be able to converse better and learn from them.
He likes juice and doesn’t like flat water, but Soda utterly despises sparkling water. To him, it’s a watered down mockery of his beloved soda.
Soda is the third and most successful test subject to undergo experiments to push the human limit on magic use. The two failed subjects before him were recruited as adults, so the researchers tried starting experimentation with a child instead.
His dependence on sugar started early on when he refused to take the medicines the researchers gave him because he didn’t like the taste. They then switched to sugar-coated pills, and Soda’s taken those ever since.
Soda’s head was shaved from a young age to make it more convenient to conduct EEG tests, make it easier to keep the lab setting sterile, and as preparation for potential procedures.
Much of his history is fabricated for the public. The WVBA and his lab may claim that he’s from Moscow, but he was really taken in from a rural orphanage. Soda has been trained extensively on his fake life story to avoid slip-ups with the press.
Soda views the project scientists and researchers that study him as his family, even if they might not see him that way. Being with the other boxers is letting him learn what an actual found family dynamic is like.
He had one friend, a fellow boy called Четыре (Chetyre/Four) that he was very close with, but Chetyre ended up as a failure and was “transferred to a different lab,” as Soda was told.
Due to Soda’s performance declining as a result of his friend being gone, the researchers got him a stuffed dog plush to be his new companion. Soda named him Пять (Pyat/Five). Pyat always goes with Soda wherever he travels and resides in his locker during matches. He is very protective over Pyat; not even his lab team are allowed to touch him.
Contemplating on whether to give Soda a trigger phrase to add a secret weapon aspect to the project.

Thinking about how Johnny would celebrate Mother’s Day (Warning for dark content involving our favorite Scottish demolitions expert and his dream of becoming a dad 💋)
You’re confused when you get a text message from Johnny, reading it multiple times to make sure you’re not seeing things wrong
Happy Mother’s Day lovie!
The answer is quick, fingers tapping away at your screen.
Was this supposed to be for your mom?
Seconds pass, the familiar triple dots float at the bottom of your screen before he sends the next message.
nope, it’s for you
Before you can even reply he sends another message, then another. The last one makes your heart sit still in your chest.
you may be wondering why I’m telling you happy Mother’s Day
well
it’s cuz I replaced your birth control with sugar pills
The last one makes your heart sit still in your chest. You’re unaware of how badly your hands shake until you try to type out a response and miss half the damn letters trying.
Johnny this isn’t funny
im not joking
The room starts spinning, you feel nauseous in the worst of ways and your blood turns to ice with each passing moment. You keep looking at your phone, hoping that you’re somehow hallucinating this and that your boyfriend wouldn’t ever do something this fucked up.
You feel faint, and when Johnny sends you a photo of your birth control next to an empty bottle of glucose tablets you actually do.
can’t wait to be a dad! 🥰

ugh
I can't sleep and I'm just sort of stewing over how unprepared I am to be entirely on my own managing my own healthcare. blech.
Did I mention, Farmsister was suffering from hip pain and went to her doctor and was diagnosed with the exact same problem I have?
Diagnosed, I said. Yes! Her doctor actually investigated the cause of her pain, diagnosed her, referred her to a physical therapist, but also came up with a plan of treatment. Told her physical therapy often can't resolve this issue, so after a set amount of PT, if there wasn't enough improvement she'd refer her to an orthopedist instead.
Imagine that. My doctor was like "you've got intermittently debilitating pain? You should go see a doctor about that." and that was that. I went to a physical therapist because that's what she recommended, but I don't have a plan, I'm just spending $150/wk to work out in a room full of other people. I guess I'll ask my PT if there's a plan or like timeline or like, idk, something we should look for, or what. IDK what a realistic goal is. Pain-free seems out of reach. I'd settle for largely functional, I guess? But I don't know, and I guess I'm on my own to figure it out.
And the same with the ADHD! She was like "oh, your insurance isn't going to cover it and it's probably going to take months of waiting, but you had better go see someone about that", and refused to engage any further. So I messaged the psychiatrist today and he doesn't check the messages on that platform so I texted the admin who was like oh usually medication is adjusted at follow-ups, and I'm like well in the three minutes he talked to me it didn't come up I guess, so then they texted back that he says to try taking two pills a day for a couple days and then schedule a follow-up.
I've asked around, and usually I guess the regular adderall pills, you take in two doses at separate times. But if the point is that I'm trying to see if a higher dose helps, I'd probably better take them at the same time??
It's just that when the small ineffective dose wears off four or five hours after I take it, without my ever having had a good phase, I get horribly drowsy and also get this kind of gross formless yearning that I think might be a dopamine crash, where I roam the house in itchy horrible discontent trying to think of something that might help me, but it's not candy and it's not reading a book and it's not napping, and I guess I understand why people turn to drugs or self-harm because the feeling is awful, spacy and wrung-out and aimlessly needy.
But I guess it's up to me to research what that is and what to do about it, and then at my $250 three-minute follow-up appointment in three days or whatever I'll tell the psych what I want prescribed to me, because it's sure as shit not like he's going to have any fucking advice for me.
And like. Laugh out loud at the notion that my primary care physician would give a single shit about this. Maybe I didn't mention this on here either but literally the only thing she has looked into about me is that my blood tests came back with a fasting blood glucose level of 5.7 (idk what units, just that she's fixated on that number) and it is exactly entirely that post circulating about """"pre-diabetes"""? She has put in my chart that she wants to start me on Metformin!! Christ all fucking mighty, it could not be more obvious that she took one look at my fat ass and was like "this bitch eats only candy! I'd better scare her straight!"
Ma'am fuck off. She wants me to get my blood retested in July and I am figuring I'll take advantage of having to have a visit then anyway to get the ADHD stuff entered into my main chart, and I'm also going to tell her that since she was so disinterested in literally any of the conditions actually debilitating me (my hip pain and my ADHD) I had to research those so I could treat myself, and in the course of researching that I found out about the fake "epidemic" of "pre-diabetes" which isn't a thing, it's a fucking PR gambit to sell drugs, and so if she prescribes me diabetes drugs when I do not fucking have diabetes I will not be taking them, and I will also be looking for a new doctor, because I do not appreciate her fixation on treating a condition I do not have while ignoring things that are literally preventing me from leading the life I want to, wherein I can do things like, stand/walk as much as I like and can also like, perform tasks.
So there's my timeline.
(Yeah my insurance won't cover blood testing a second time in a year so that's gonna cost me $200ish, and the phone doctor visit she insisted on to discuss the results last time was $45 and it'll be that again for this one, but I mean, eventually I'll hit my deductible maybe.)
I don't know, people tell me that they have medical professionals that actually listen to and treat them and give them like actual good actionable advice on how to improve their various health conditions but as far as I can tell that all sounds fake and isn't a thing.
Unfortunately, I am too fucking debilitated by my Can't Think Good disease to do a competent job at caring for myself, so I guess I'm just going to have to fucking muddle through somehow, or something.
Probably I should put together my citations on how Pre-Diabetes Is Fake so that when I unload that on my doctor I can do so with fucking footnotes at least. Lord knows I can't sleep at the moment so I might as well do something productive.

abyse gave me their phone to make this post. im their partner :]
i havent been in the phandom for years but i distinctly remember a lot of the "ghost hunger" headcanons. the idea itself is interesting, but most of the time it just seemed like an excuse to make danny feral or write gore. which isnt necessarily bad, it just usually wasnt done in an interesting way imo.
i thought of my own version of this headcanon: when ghosts exist outside of the ghost zone for too long, they experience a kind of hypoglycemia from a lack of ectoplasmic energy, and thus need to consume it via eating it or just returning to the ghost zone to refuel. it happens more often for half-ghosts, since theyre basically never in the ghost zone to begin with and are already tied to the mortal realm via their human half.
i myself am hypoglycemic, so its fun to project my problems onto the characters i like.
i imagine the first time it happens to danny, his parents do some tests and are very confused, because "your symptoms are almost exactly that of low blood sugar, but your blood sugar levels look mostly okay?" he might have lower blood sugar just from being a half-ghost lol. maddie has glucose pills stocked for emergencies so they give him that and hover over him to try and figure out whats wrong, but eventually he manages to sneak away and ask vlad wtf is going on, to which vlad is like "ah. right. that" and gives him some advice plus a warning that such a thing can and will be fatal if he doesnt take it seriously.
thats it for the post, giving the phone back to abyss now. bye
